Diesel injectors are available in many different fuel flow rates, from stock injectors to race injectors that flow 100% over stock or more. First time diesel owners are often pleasantly surprised when they upgrade to mild performance injectors and in addition to more power and better throttle response, see a noticeable increase in fuel economy. The better the fuel spray pattern and atomization, the less fuel will be wasted at combustion, leading to the fuel mileage gains (and less black smoke out the tailpipe).
Most diesel injectors, especially common rail injectors, come with a core charge. This is an upfront fee collected by the injector manufacturer that is reimbursed when you ship your old injectors back to them. Your old injectors have a value, and with the proper equipment and some new parts can be turned into a set of usable “like new” injectors.
