Product Description

Performance Diesel Inc. (PDI) Big Boss products represent the pinnacle in American made quality Big Rig performance products. This PDI package for 1996-2003 Detroit 12.7L Non-EGR DDEC 3/4 engines includes a Stage 1 Turbo (part 714600), an Exhaust Manifold (part 8445), and PDI Installation Kit (part 8445K-1). This turbo/exhaust manifold combo is designed to increase fuel efficiency, horsepower and torque.

Turbo Info

Built to withstand the toughest heat cycle conditions adding reliability with performance and efficiency, the turbine housing design is built to enhance airflow with consistency. A 1.32 A/R ratio keeps the drive pressure within standards to keep the turbo in its optimal range to improve performance efficiency. This advanced design of the turbo utilizes a V-band style which eliminates the need for the traditional o-ring design of some engines. This turbo supports up to 600 Horsepower.

Exhaust Manifold Info

The PDI Detroit Series 60 Non-EGR Exhaust Manifold has been designed to maximize exhaust air flow, reduce turbo lag time, and cool exhaust temperatures. Stock and other competitive products on the market fall short as their design constricts the airflow, increasing turbo spool response time. The hard angles on other manifold designs cause higher swirl rates and friction which increases exhaust temperatures putting more risk on the engine. With lower quality iron, a stock exhaust manifold or one from a competitor can weaken over time as the manifold expands and contracts. This can lead to cracks and even flaking. The PDI Exhaust Manifold is built using a superior grade of High Silicon with Molybdenum Ductile Iron (HSMD) that eliminates weak points such as warping, cracking, and center divider failure from heat erosion. This material, combined with a redesign of the mounting surfaces, eliminates common failures due to a fatigued manifold. Each port has been analyzed and tested to provide a balanced flow to the turbocharger. The diameter of the runners has been designed to produce, on average, a 20% airflow increase over a stock manifold. The gradual angles of the manifold have been built to reduce swirl rate resulting in cooler exhaust temperatures by 75-100 degrees. PDI manifolds help maintain optimal exhaust pressure to boost pressure ratios, providing the potential for increased fuel economy.

Install Kit Info

The Turbo / Exhaust Manifold Combo install kit includes gaskets for a professional installation. PDI isn’t just a parts manufacturer. They are a real world shop, and they design and install every part they make. With PDI performance parts you know you’re getting only the best.
