Product Description

The all new Monster-Ram intake elbow for the 6.7L Cummins in your Ram lives up to its name. It is an absolute MONSTER and our engineers pulled out all the stops when developing it. No Tuning Needed, 50 State Compliant, 100% Performance, Nothing else comes close!

The stock elbow and heater kill airflow into your engine. Get back all that power you lose and gain a more responsive, power efficient engine. Improve airflow from the intercooler. Raise boost without increasing backpressure at the turbine.

How We Do It

Your Cummins engine consumes a massive amount of air and struggles to breathe through its tiny, squashed inlet. The stock horn causes boost loss at the same flow while the Banks Monster-Ram has a wide, unrestricted, free-flowing path.

The Monster-Ram uses a new No. 1 fuel line for added clearance, this lets it have a large direct opening and flow more air without obstruction. All this without the need for retuning the ECM, just bolt on and go! If you have an existing iDash setup, the Monster-Ram has four 1/8 inch NPT ports for expansion options so it’s ready for whatever the future brings.

Prevent Catastrophic Engine Failure Caused By Failure Prone Factory Grid Heater Bolt

The factory grid heater bolt that comes installed in your truck from the factory is prone to failure. When it fails, the bolt falls from the underside of the factory grid heater and falls into the engine. The bolt ends up in the 6th cylinder causing severe engine damage that many times can result in needing to replace the engine. The Banks Monster Ram includes a billet intake plate that replaces the factory grid heater. The kit also includes an improved coil heater design that sits vertically in the monster ram. This gives you the same function as the factory grid heater. The Banks design dramatically improves airflow and eliminates the possibility of catastrophic engine failure caused by a failed factory grid heater bolt falling into your engine.

Stock Blocks Performance

The stock heater grid chokes airflow even more, just to heat the air during cold engine starts. It is also a magnet for soot and carbon build up. The harder you drive your Ram, the worse it gets. Owners have reported engine damage as parts of the OEM heater have come loose causing thousands of dollars worth of damage! For peek airflow and performance, the Monster-Ram includes a custom machined high flow billet plate. This plate is machined to the optimum thickness and features an over sized inlet that is CNC port-matched to the Monster-Ram for zero restriction and maximum flow.

Make Way For Airflow!

Banks engineers designed an all-new heating solution to allows the removal of the factory grid heater and plate. A new Banks exclusive coil heater sits vertically inside the Monster-Ram without hindering airflow and allowing the factory grid heater to be replaced with the Banks High-Flow Billet Plate. This eliminates the risk of engine failure due to parts loosening and falling into the engine while maintaining OEM like cold weather engine start performance.

What it does

The Monster-Ram improves airflow from the intercooler. It flows 936 cfm (71.5 lbs/min) with Banks’ High-Flow Heater and Billet Intake Plate compared to stock’s 421 cfm (32.16 lbs/min). Monster-Ram raises boost without increasing backpressure at the turbine. The result is a more responsive, power-efficient engine that offers even more headroom than stock for higher horsepower applications.

The complete system

Banks’ High-Flow Heater and Billet Intake Plate complete the perfect system. The High-Flow Heater allows for the removal of the restrictive stock heater grid plate. The new vertical coil-style heater provides the same functionality for cold starts as the stock grid heater but without obstructing airflow. Replacing the restrictive stock grid heater plate with the Banks High-Flow Intake Plate removes all obstructions and turbulence in the airflow path.

How it was designed

Utilizing the latest in CFD (computational fluid-dynamics), tested on the flow bench, the dyno, and on-road, Monster-Ram is a beast that only Banks could have unleashed. A direct-replacement aluminum casting, Monster-Ram is instant power, performance, and acceleration gratification. The factory inlet elbow is cramped and angular in order to accommodate the path of the stock No. 1 fuel line. Banks Engineers designed a new No. 1 fuel line, allowing the Monster-Ram to flow more air without obstruction.

Expandable

With four 1/8” NPT ports, perfect for temperature and pressure sensors, the sky’s the limit for data acquisition and expandability.

Beats the competition

Like all Banks products, the Monster-Ram was tested against all available competitors. It more than doubles the improvement over the closest competitor.
